Eid-ul-Fitr, also known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast, is one of Islam’s most significant religious celebrations. It marks the end of the month-long Ramadan fast, during which Muslims abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset. Eid-ul-Fitr is a time of joy, happiness, and celebration, and it is observed by Muslims worldwide. This year, the celebration was held at Sayreville JFK Park in NJ, Organized by Masjid Sadar & Community Center and ICSR. It was a delightful event with breakfast, a carnival, lunch, and ice cream.
The event started early in the morning with dedicated volunteers setting up the park for the congregants for the Eid prayer. Hundreds of Muslims gathered to offer the prayer, and it was a beautiful sight to see people of all ages, dressed in their best clothes, praying together.
After the prayer, a delicious breakfast was served to the attendees. The breakfast included continental breakfast items and traditional dishes.
After breakfast, the carnival started, and it was a delight for children and adults alike. There were games, rides, and entertainment for all ages, and everyone enjoyed themselves. The carnival had something for everyone, from the young children who enjoyed the bouncy castle to the adults who tried their hand at various sports activities. The festive atmosphere of the carnival was contagious, and everyone was having a great time.
As the day progressed, lunch was served, and it was a grand feast. The lunch included a variety of dishes such as fried rice, noodles, and chicken. The food was delicious, and everyone enjoyed the meal while chatting with friends and family.
The day ended on a sweet note with ice cream for everyone. There were different flavors of ice cream available, and people indulged in their favorite flavors. It was a perfect end to a perfect day of celebration.
The Sayreville JFK Park Eid-ul-Fitr celebration was a grand success, and it brought the Muslim community together to celebrate the end of Ramadan. The event was a testament to the unity and diversity of the Muslim community in NJ. It showcased Islam’s rich culture and traditions and was an excellent opportunity for non-Muslims to learn more about the religion and its celebrations.
